If math never existed, human civilization would not have advanced beyond basic tasks such as hunting and gathering.
For those who want further information
If math never existed, human civilization would have been stuck on very basic tasks such as hunting and gathering. Math has been the foundation of technological advancements and scientific discoveries. Without it, we would not have electricity, modern medicine, or space exploration.
As Albert Einstein once said, “Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.” Mathematics has played an integral role in our history and culture. Here are some interesting facts regarding the importance of math:
The ancient Egyptians were the first civilization to develop a system of mathematics.
The Greeks introduced geometry, allowing for the measurement and calculation of shapes.
Algebra, which allows for the solving of complex equations, was developed by the Arabs in the Middle Ages.
The development of calculus by Sir Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wihelm von Leibniz allowed for the creation of modern physics.
John Forbes Nash Jr., a Nobel Prize-winning mathematician, developed the game theory, which is used in economics, political science, and psychology.
Without the development of these mathematical concepts, human advancement would have been severely limited. Below is a table showcasing some of the technological advancements that would not have been possible without math:
|Technological Advancements||Importance of Math|
In conclusion, math is an integral part of human progress, and without it, we would still be living in prehistoric times. As the famous mathematician, Ramanujan once said, “Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it is about understanding.” It is the understanding and application of mathematics that has allowed us to achieve remarkable feats and improve the quality of life for people around the world.

Now imagine how different our daily landscape would be if mathematics had never came to be. It would mean no time, no calendars, no buildings, no transportation, no recipes… the list goes on and on. Quite simply, all of the comforts which make our lives what they are today would be no more.
Mathematics is the bedrock of civilisation and the language of science. Without it, we would not be able to measure, make, or build anything. There would be no money, houses, roads, hospitals, food production, internet, or defence. We would also not have any calendars or time. We would still be figuring out each and everything in life, which in turn, would create chaos.
Without it, we couldn’t measure anything, make anything or build anything. There would be no money, houses or roads. No hospitals or food production, no internet, no defence. For every advance in science, mathematics has been at its core.
What will happen if mathematics that not exist? Mathematics is the bedrock of civilisation and the language of science. Without it, we couldn’t measure anything, make anything or build anything. There would be no money, houses or roads.
Had it not been for math, we would still be figuring out each and everything in life, which in turn, would create chaos. Still not convinced? If there were no numbers, there wouldn’t exist any calendars or time. You won’t even know that it’s your own birthday or your best friend’s birthday since all the days in your life will be same.
Not being too sarcastic, firstly, you couldn’t count the number of upvotes or followers of this question 🙂
Well, thats the least problem, can you imagine a world where you couldn’t count ? Money, duh…..number of games you own…duh….number of facebook friends you have …..aarrghh!
we would still be struggling with woods and timber, much less industrial growth or anything ! Maths , though many people hate it …..( i love maths…sorry guys) is actually one of the basic fundamentals that help us to advance, evolve …( oh yes !)
Do you think we could have had the Industrial Revolution without maths ? Do you think we could have had phones, internet if maths hadn’t been invented ? People might call this crazy , but yes, maths does indeed have a role, maybe an indirect one that helped people develop internet, develop the tech , develop well….you can name it. Not exaggerating just coz I’m in love with maths .

This video discusses the debate between those who believe that mathematics is discovered, and those who believe that it is invented. The video provides examples of how mathematics has been used to solve problems in the real world.
